About

This years marks our 35th Anniversary of creating fresh and functional art for the home.

The entire basis and inspiration of the pottery within the store is based on historical aspects. You are not only purchasing quality pottery, but you are also obtaining accurate replicas of popular historical styles. Like Rowe’s authentic designs, the salt-glaze firing process uses traditional methods to create the historic pottery.

The salt glaze firing process has been traced to 12th century Germany and was brought to the United States for use by early American artisans. Using this process is another step in Rowe’s commitment to re-creating pottery with historical roots. Some of the product lines are offered in the classic blue and grey from the Early American era, or choose from limited edition collections. All pottery is handcrafted in Cambridge with a hand-thrown and decorated method, the same process that was used 150 years ago.
